Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, 881 Aam Aadmi Clinics have been established in Punjab. These clinics not only offer treatment for various health issues but also enable the prompt detection of serious medical conditions. Furthermore, they keep detailed records of patients’ medical histories, which will help simplify future treatment procedures.
Medical history records of 2.15 crore patients
At Aam Aadmi Clinic, patient registration information, prescribed medications, test results, and treatment details are being systematically collected in an electronic format. To streamline this process, doctors, pharmacists, and other staff have been provided with tablets that enable secure management of patient data. So far, health records for more than 2.15 crore patients have been successfully compiled and are securely stored within the health department.
Punjab Govt’s Aim
The Punjab Government aims to maintain a comprehensive record of the medical histories of all patients visiting the Aam Aadmi Clinic. This initiative ensures that in emergency situations, doctors can access vital medical information without concern for the patient’s prior history.
Aam Aadmi Clinic model rated as the best in the world
Representatives from 82 nations attended the Global Health Summit in Nairobi, where the Aam Aadmi Clinic model implemented by the Punjab government was recognized as the best globally. Additionally, 40 countries expressed their intention to adopt this model.
Early detection of diseases
Aam Aadmi Clinic provides 38 different types of tests and offers 80 types of medications free of charge to patients. These free tests enable patients to identify various serious illnesses at an early stage, allowing for timely initiation of treatment.
People saved ₹1,050 crore
CM Mann has remarked that Aam Aadmi Clinic is our dream project, and ever since it was launched, it has reduced the long wait times usually faced in hospitals. Consequently, the people of Punjab have saved crores of rupees as medical expenses. Furthermore, this initiative has eased the pressure on doctors in larger medical facilities.
