The outcomes of the Punjab Government’s initiatives are becoming apparent. Last year, in September, Hansali village in Fatehgarh Sahib was recognised as the best village. CM Mann emphasises that integrating agriculture with tourism will not only bolster the economy but also enhance the financial well-being of the state’s farmers.
Establishment of Film City
The Punjab government is actively working to enhance tourism and promote the development of the state. A proposal has been put forward to create a ‘Film City’. The state boasts a variety of attractions for tourists, including villages, sacred sites, recreational areas, water bodies, and the villages of martyrs. The government is focused on establishing a distinct identity for these attractions within the tourism sector.
Initiatives are underway to link agriculture and religious sites with tourism, while also highlighting the entertainment industry, especially through the planned development of a film city. Bhagwant Mann, a former comedian, recognizes that the establishment of a film city in Punjab would not only boost tourism but also strengthen the state’s economy.
CM Mann remarked that many countries still depend significantly on tourism for their economic stability. Punjab is rich in tourist attractions, leading to a focused effort to improve them. The state government is actively working on initiatives to revive and redevelop the tourism industry.
