The Government of Punjab – led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Khan – is also establishing a lab to teach AI to students in schools. This lab is being built in Mohali where class 11-12 students will be taught about this technology.

Punjab Govt reformed education sector

CM Mann, the son of a teacher, has initiated the establishment of 118 ‘Schools of Eminence’ aimed at enhancing the quality of education in government schools across Punjab. Since the Punjab Government was formed, substantial reforms have been introduced in the education sector.

Teachers are being trained

The Punjab Government’s ‘School of Eminence’ initiative is set to rival private educational institutions. To improve educational standards, teachers and school principals are being sent to Finland and Singapore for training. This program seeks to equip educators with modern technology, which will ultimately benefit the students.

Preparing students for JEE and NEET

The Punjab government is improving the education system from primary to higher secondary levels and preparing students for competitive exams like NEET and JEE. There is also a significant focus on building students’ confidence.

The Chief Minister of Punjab has remarked that students from government schools were once perceived as less competent than their counterparts in convent schools. However, with the launch of the ‘School of Eminence’, government schools now offer facilities comparable to those in private institutions.
